Rajinikanth turns 72: Dhanush, Kamal Haasan and other celebs wish the actor on his birthday

South cinema's superstar “Thalaiva” Rajinikanth is celebrating his 72nd birthday today, Monday, December 12. Even at this age, the actor enjoys a massive fan following, evident from the fact that since morning, “Happy Birthday Sir” has been trending on various social media platforms, especially Twitter. In fact, fans of the veteran actor have been sending in their wishes and blessing, while a bunch of celebrities like Dhanush, Kamal Haasan and Dulquer Salmaan too took to social media to wish the superstar.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Kamal Haasan wrote a special message in Tamil for the superstar, which read, “Happy birthday to my dear friend Superstar @rajinikanth. Wish you on this auspicious day to continue your journey of success.” For the unversed, Haasan collaborated with Rajinikanth for a bunch of projects in the 70s including Apoorva Raagangal, Moondru Mudichu, and 16 Vayathinile, among others.

 

 

 

As mentioned above, actor Dulquer Salmaan also wished the actor. Salmaan shared an animated poster of Thalaiva along with “Happy Birthday” written on it. “Happy Birthday Superstar #Rajinikanth Sir ! You are the best & keep inspiring us forever,” read his tweet. Meanwhile, Dhanush, who is also Rajinikanth’s son-in-law, kept his wish sweet and simple as he wrote, “Happy birthday THALAIVA”.

 

Similarly, Bollywood actress-turned-politician Urmila Matondkar also took to her Twitter handle and dropped birthday wishes for Rajinikanth. In her wish, she called him the “ultimate epitome of humility, graciousness, greatness, and affection.”

 

 

 

 

 

Interestingly, Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha also spoke about Rajinikanth during his recent conversation with Times Of India. “There is no superstar bigger than Rajinikanth in this land. Miraculously he has managed to stay grounded, humble and very close to his roots. He can afford the best cars, and clothes that money can buy. But Rajini prefers to live frugally. He is a saint by nature,” Sinha asserted.

 

Coming to the professional front, the 72-year-old actor will be next seen in filmmaker Nelson's Jailer, an action-comedy drama slated to release on April 14, 2023.
