Sita Ramam: Mrunal Thakur claims she resonates with Sita; “She knows what she wants and that's exactly the way I am,” says the actress

Mrunal Thakur will be making her South debut opposite Dulquer Salmaan in Sita Ramam, which also stars Rashmika Mandanna. While we have received many glimpses of her character Sita in the teaser as well as in her introduction video, her looks are being described as ‘Ethereal’ in the period romance drama.

Set in 1965, their upcoming romance drama chronicles the magical tale of Ram and Sita Considering the same, we will be seeing Mrunal Thakur in a never-seen-before look where she will be donning a traditional get-up that has a vintage charm in the film. Adding to her character is also her coy expressions and a bright smile. A source close to the actress described her character adding, “She emotes through her eyes and the love she has for Ram is unmissable. She will be seen sparking the kind of chemistry that only eternal love brings with Dulquer Salmaan.”

 

Talking about how relatable Sita is to her, Mrunal Thakur said, “Sita is somebody who is extremely gracious and someone who is empathetic, she is kind and humble. And I realised a lot about this empathetic side of the character. Not only that, Sita is extremely decisive, doesn’t wait for someone else to decide for her and is fiercely independent. She knows what she wants and she is immensely romantic and that’s exactly the way I am. So these are the few similarities I could tell you about Sita and my real-life persona.”

 

Presented by National Award-winning Vyjayanthi Movies & produced by C Aswani Dutt for Swapna Cinema, directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, with cinematography by P S Vinod, music by Vishal Chandrasekhar & choreography by Brinda Master, Sita Ramam stars Dulquer Salmaan, Rashmika Mandanna and Mrunal Thakur in lead roles. The film is slated to release on August 5 in Telugu, Tamil & Malayalam.
