Tara Sutaria to play Yash's romantic interest in action-drama Toxic? Here’s what we know

Kannada superstar Yash's upcoming film, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, is shaping up to be a high-octane action extravaganza. Already generating immense buzz, the multilingual project has just added another name to its cast – Tara Sutaria. She will play a pivotal role in the Geetu Mohandas-directed film.

According to the Peeping Moon report, Tara Sutaria joins the previously rumoured cast including Kiara Advani as Yash's romantic interest. The film boasts a powerful female force with the inclusion of South Indian actress Nayanthara, who will portray Yash's sister on screen. Rounding out the cast is Huma Qureshi, expected to play a formidable antagonist. A source revealed, “Tara is overjoyed to have landed a prominent role in such a massive project. She plays one of the two romantic interests of the Kannada superstar, the other being Kiara Advani.”

 

Toxic will delve into the dark and dangerous world of the drug mafia, specifically focusing on its reign from the 1950s to the 1970s. Reports suggest Yash will portray a stylish gangster, a stark contrast to his previous roles.

 

The makers are pulling out all the stops for Toxic. The project reportedly involves over 200 days of shooting, indicating their commitment to achieving an unparalleled visual experience. This translates to grand sets, meticulously choreographed action sequences, and a visually stunning spectacle for audiences. Despite being well into production, the makers have maintained a tight hold on information regarding Toxic. The official cast has yet to be announced.

 

The project is a joint production between Yash's own banner, Monster Mind Creations, and production house KVN Productions. While shooting began in June 2024, a short hiatus is planned due to Yash's other commitments. He will resume filming in September. The film is currently slated for a theatrical release on April 10, 2025.
