The trailer offers a glimpse into the mysterious and mystical world of Thangalaan, a world never seen before. Chiyaan Vikram plays a unique role of a believer, who is ready to sacrifice everything to protect his world and his people. For the unversed, the story of the film captures the history of the Kolar Gold Fields (KFG). Over two centuries ago, the Kolar Gold Mine Field was discovered by the British, who exploited and looted it for their own purposes. While glimpses of all that went down on the Kolar Gold Fields is showcased, the trailer also keeps audiences mesmerized by adding a magical twist to the tale.

Also starring Parvathy Thirvothu and Malavika Mohanan in key roles, the film also features an ensemble supporting cast and is produced by K. E. Gnanavel Raja's Studio Green. The upcoming historical drama also boasts of a massive technical crew which comprises of DOP A. Kishor Kumar, film editor Selva R K, art director S S Murthi Action among others. The action scenes are choreographed by Stunner Sam with music composed by GV Prakash Kumar. Thangalaan is scheduled for a worldwide release on August 15, 2024, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
