Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen to reunite for a family entertainer

Vijay Sethupathi, who has been garnering accolades for his performance in Maharaja, is reuniting with Nithya Menen, who recently won the National Award for her performance in the Dhanush starrer Thiruchitrambalam. Although the project continues to stay under wraps, reports have it that the said untitled film has already gone on floors with Pandiraj as the director.

On Friday, August 23, news of their collaboration was announced on social media along with the news that it will be produced under the banner Sathya Jyothi Films. However, an official announcement from the team of the film including the actors is expected to be made soon. Furthermore, it is said that the entire cast and crew have already kicked off work on the upcoming movie. Touted to be a family entertainer, we hear that Vijay Sethupathi along with the ensemble supporting cast has even started shooting for the film whereas actress Nithya Menen is expected to join the schedule soon.

 

Interestingly, this is the second film of Nithya Menen and Vijay Sethupathi who featured together in the film Malayalam film 19(1)(a) in which the actress essays the role of a café runner. The film was directed by Indhu V.S. and released on Disney+ Hotstar on July 29, 2022.

 

 

Speaking of other work commitments, Vijay Sethupathi has the film Gandhi Talks which is a silent drama in the pipeline for release. He also has Viduthalai Part 2, a sequel to the 2023 Vetrimaaran directorial which also in line. The actor is also keen on reuniting with the cast of Amazon Prime Video series Farzi co-starring Shahid Kapoor for a second season. Meanwhile, Nithya Menen is currently working on completing two films, Kadalikka Neeramillai with Jayam Ravi and Dear Exes. As for filmmaker Pandiraj, he last directed the Suriya starrer Etharkkum Thunidhavan which released in 2022.
