A radio show plays an important part in HTPL

HTPL is a little gem of a film.The advance booking is open, said Executive Producer Zoya Akhtar at a special promotional event of Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai yesterday where stars like Shabana Azmi, Boman Irani, Kay Kay Menon, Minisha Lamba, Karan Khanna, Sandhya Mridul, Raima Sen and director Reema Kagti were accompanied on Honeymoon Travels Starbus by eight couples that were selected through a contest on Radio Mirchi from Hilton Towers to Salt Water Grill. Radio Mirchi plays an important character in the film and RJ Harsh happens to be the sutradhaar that binds the film together. The eagerly anticipated film is a story revolving around six couples on their honeymoon, a guide, a driver and a handyman riding in a bus from Bombay to Goa. The radio show Pyaar Ke Lamhe plays a pivotal role in the film discussing-n-revealing secrets about individual characters. With the sea waves gleefully gurgling in the near vicinity, the stars had a ball as they broke into an impromptu jig on the high-octane-number Vaari Vaari from the film. Kay Kay was everyones favourite dancer as they recounted how he followed choreographer Farah Khans instructions of doing whatever comes naturally by putting his hands across his face and doing his own thing thereafter. Sandhya Mridul seems to have had a great time for she was still in a holiday mood. I completely monopolized Boman, she said. Boman on the other hand was apologetic about taking longer than the ladies for getting into his retro hair-do everyday. I missed out on a lot of fun as I was also shooting for Don simultaneously then. Ask him about the lip-lock with veteran Shabana Azmi and he turns defensive. I dont understand why such a big deal is being made out of that small kiss.Its just a kiss.Have you not kissed in life? Uhm Shabana Azmi on the other hand was at ease with the kiss-question. She had a ball doing the song and dance sequence. And she was all praise for her daughter Zoya Akhtar, who according to her handled the production responsibilities very well. Raima Sen enjoyed going back to her roots as she and Kay Kay play a Bengali couple. Kay Kay on his part was warmth personified as he said, All of us welcome you on this wonderful trip. Former Assistant Director to Mira Nair (Vanity Fair), Ashutosh Gowarikar (Lagaan) and Farhan Akhtar (Lakshya), Reema Kagti turns director with Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. She denies comparisons with Salaam-e-ishq and hasnt seen Just Married to really comment on it. Producer Farhan Akhtar called her a very special person. And yes he is of the opinion that with a whole lot of other films not releasing on February 23rd Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd. would benefit being the lone horse at the Box Office.
