Ok let us spill the beans and let the cat out of the bag. The first Mangal Pandey was was was Shatrughan Sinha. Yes you read it right; it was our very own Bihari babu Shatrughan Sinha. And no we are not talking about Sinha as the original choice for the Ketan Mehta film.
Shatrughan Sinha actually played the character of Mangal Pandey in a film of the same name that released way back in 1982. The film directed by Harmesh Malhotra starred Parveen Babbi along with Kadar Khan and Ajit. Anu Malik had composed the music of that Mangal Pandey.
