While we are used to actresses flirting from one film to the next without doing any homework for their roles, here's one actress who did all the research to portray a significant character on screen. Amisha enacts the role of a widow during the British Raj opposite a British soldier in THE RISING. Amisha read many books about the period and considers William Dalrymple's 'White Mughal' as the reference point. Says Amisha, I was fascinated when I read 'White Mughal' because it talks about those times. It was a reference point in terms of sketching the character, in terms of characterization. In fact, Aamir and [director] Ketan Mehta helped me all the way.
