The genre of sports biopics received a new boost with the success of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag and filmmakers like Sanjay Leela Bhansali decided to explore it even further with films like Mary Kom. And now, yet another filmmaker Amol Gupte desires to take forward the sports biopic legacy with a film on renowned badminton player Saina Nehwal.
Of late, there have been several speculations about a film being made on this young sports persona but there hasn't been anything concrete. Now, we hear that Amol Gupte has already bought the rights for the same and has even met Saina and her family to discuss the details of the film. Apparently, the director who will also be penning the script visited the Nehwals in Hyderabad where he went on to understand the journey of Saina's life.
