IFFI to screen films which were part of Film Bazaar last year

Projects presented at the Film Bazaar 'work-in progress 2010' have been selected in the Indian Panorama IFFI this year

Three films which were selected in Indian panorama were mentored in the Work-in-Progress Lab of Film Bazaar last year. The Work-in-Progress Lab 2010 projects selected in the Indian Panorama 2011 include Sahi Dhande Galat Bande (Hindi) by Parvin Dabbas, Karmayogi (Malayalam) by V.K. Prakash and Baboo Band Baaja (Marathi) by Rajesh Pinjani.

IFFI to screen films which were part of Film Bazaar last year

Baboo Band Baaja is a seminal work on the Bandwallah community (street musicians) through the hopes and struggles of Jaggu a street musician, his wife and their son Baboo. It is the story of persistence and the power of decisions that defines hope in the life of the deprived. This film is Pinjani's directorial debut and has been honored with multiple National awards.

V.K Prakash's Karmayogi is a passionate portrayal of the conflicts of a wronged son and his fixation to avenge his father's death.

Sahi Dhande Galat Bande marks the directorial debut of Parvin Dabbas, also staring Anupam Kher and Sharat Saxena. It is a satirical take on a gang of four friends and their and their sincere attempts at doing the wrong job in the right way.

Film Bazaar is a global market place for the international film fraternity with a singular focus to promote south Asian stories; the present day need of filmmakers. NFDC's primary goal is to promote noteworthy Indian films and encourage good cinema movement in the country.

The FB Work in Progress Lab is where filmmakers submit their rough cut feature/documentary films to receive guidance and mentoring from international film experts. Three projects that made it to the Work- in progress Lab at FB last year have been selected in the Indian Panorama section at IFFI 2011. The Indian Panorama selects deserving feature and non feature films to applaud pan- Indian achievements in Indian cinema through film festivals and other cultural exchanges.

Mangesh Joshi's He (Bhojpuri) and Nabyendu Chatterjee's Sanskar a Bengali language film are selected in the Indian Panaroma'11. Both the films are NFDC productions. Joshi's He was also presented at the Co-production marketing and the Screenwriters Lab at FB in 2008. NFDC funded some of the most remarkable films in the Indian film industry, given its mandate to promote the cultural diversity of Indian cinema.

Film Bazaar is a production and distribution platform open to all faculties of filmmaking. The objective is to bring industry professionals together to encourage networking, facilitate collaborations and forging of business deals for their projects with international partners. The delegate attendance at FB includes filmmakers, financers, sales agents, distributors, producers, festival programmers and directors and broadcasting and Funding representatives among others.
