The very name of 'Subhash Ghai' immediately commands respect of the highest order in Bollywood and elsewhere. But, recently, there were strong buzz in the media about this Showman not having paid a few technicians who had been involved in his last release Kaanchi, which failed to set the cash registers ringing at the Box Office.

Speaking about this issue, Gulab Rao (one of the unpaid technicians who had provided the special effects machines) said that, despite the fact that they (Ghai and his team) utilized his machines for over one month, he hasn't been paid his dues (amounting to Rs. 1.5 lakh approximately). He added that, whenever he asked them for the payment (his due amount), the reason cited for the delay was the film's poor business at the Box-Office. Gulab Rao has now stopped doing the rounds of Ghai's office for his pending amount as he is now tired after pursuing the same for long.

Speaking about this issue, Subhash Ghai 'clarified' that, while all the prime artistes and technicians have been paid, the bills in question must be pending due to company procedure.
