After lying low for two years on the political front, actor turned politician Jaya Bachchan filed her nomination for the Rajya Sabha as a Samajwadi Party (SP) candidate. She filed her nomination in the presence Akhilesh Yadav, who on Thursday was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, and other party MLAs.
Jaya Bachchan was a Rajya Sabha MP earlier from 2004 as a SP nominee and her tenure came to an end in February, 2010. Earlier she had refused re-nomination.
