After much speculation, it has been confirmed that Italian actress, Monica Bellucci will play the role of Sonia Gandhi in Jagmohan Mundras biographical film. Talks were on for quite some time. Bellucci finally got on board on Friday. Earlier, Aishwarya Rai and Preity Zinta were considered for the role. However, the Italian actress was finally zeroed in on, due to her striking resemblance to Gandhi.
Most of the film will be in English, since Sonia Gandhi speaks Hindi only publicly. It seems that Gandhi did not really approve of the book, on which the film is based. Gandhi will not be giving her inputs for the film since it is not an official biography. The remaining members of the cast are yet to be finalized.
MP bans Jodhaa Akbar, UTV goes to High CourtJagmohan Mundra is currently all geared up for the release of his film Provoked starring Aishwarya Rai as the female lead. The film was recently premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.
