Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Pooja Bhatt are among the many members of the film fraternity who intend to flee Mumbai on Diwali night for the sake of their petrified pets.
SLB's pet canine Popo who is like a son to him, gets so traumatized by the burst of firecrackers every Diwali that he needs to be held down and comforted all through the night. This year Bhansali intends to take time off from his grueling shooting of Bajirao Mastani and head to Lonavla to his farm house with his pet.
Pooja Bhatt who has a wide array of pets at home isn't sure she can get away. Diwali, for her, is not an occasion of happiness on account of her pets.
Says Pooja, "I have four cats and two dogs at home who shiver and cower and hide under the bed as the firecrackers start during Diwali. It is heartbreaking to see them that way. I feel helpless. I can't do anything to ease their agony except wait for the noise to end."
