Veteran filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi finds himself in a spot of bother after PVR Pictures filed a criminal case against him in relation to a bounced cheque.
The story dates back to almost 4 years ago when Santoshi was to make a film for PVR and was even paid an advance of Rs. 1.11 crore. However, when the director failed to come up with a script and other key elements within the stipulated time, he was asked to return the signing amount by PVR. Santoshi issued a cheque of Rs. 50 lakhs to PVR but as luck would have it the cheque bounced.
PVR Pictures files criminal case against SantoshiDespite repeated follow-ups, Santoshi refuses to co-operate and PVR had no choice but to file a criminal case against him. The filmmaker has to now appear in court on September 7.
