Rahman’s first music video for film : Bollywood News

Normally A R Rahman shies away from promotional music videos. In what seems to be another first in this composing genius' distinguished career, Rahman will appear in a promotional video for the film Ek Dewaana Tha, singing a track Kya Hai Mohabbat'.

Ironically Rahman, known to delay projects due to his global commitments, has this time done the needful. He has shot for the track for director Gautham Menon.

Now the director is unsure of how to use Rahman's presence. So for change the delay is from the other end.

Says Menon, "I still have to decide how to put together the music video. We've filmed Rahman singing the song. I need to put it together with shots from the film."

Menon admits this is the first promotional music video for a film that Rahman has ever shot for.

We probed a bit about what made the reclusive composer so agreeable to coming on camera for a video. Apparently, Rahman finds himself sharing a deep empathy with the Prateik-Amy Jackson romance in the film.

Says Menon, "There's an old fashioned quality to their romance. I think Rahman identifies with that."
