Ranbir Kapoor is known to be extremely selective when it comes to his projects. Even after the success of Rockstar, Ranbir didn't go on a signing spree and preferred to play the waiting game. Now the young and supremely talented actor has given his nod to be a part of Anurag Kashyap's ambitious project Bombay Velvet. The combination of Ranbir and Anurag is indeed quite unconventional and something worth looking forward to.
Bombay Velvet, based on historian Gyan Prakash's Mumbai Fables, is the story of how the city became a metropolis against the backdrop of love, greed, violence and Jazz music. The film is a part of a trilogy that aims at recreating Bombay of the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Ranbir signed for Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay VelvetAnurag has been working on this project for a long time now and has written the film along with Prakash, S.Thanikachalam and Vasan Bala.
Amit Trivedi has been roped in to compose the music for this film which will have a Jazz flavour to it. Bombay Velvet is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures and is expected to go on floors in October this year.
