The film industry, it seems, has suddenly become very cautious about the release of films, what with big ventures falling like ninepins at the box office. The producers and distributors are in no mood to take chances, as the revised schedules of two forthcoming blockbusters seem to suggest.
The news is that the release date of the Abhishek Bachchan-Kareena Kapoor launchpad, Refugee, may be rolled back by two weeks. The JP Dutta film, scheduled to hit the screens on June 9, will now release on June 23 in all probability. The postponing may be due to the possible rollback in the release date of another big venture, Venus Movies Josh, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. This Mansoor Khan film, scheduled initially for June 2 may hit the screens a week later. Naturally, the producers of Refugee will want to keep space between the two releases, to avoid a clash at the box office.
