It certainly seems like Kamal Haasan's woes in regards to his film Vishwaroop releasing will never end. Post the banning of the film in Tamil Nadu we hear that Vishwaroop has now been banned in Uttar Pradesh and Malaysia.
Apparently, the ruling Samajwadi Party has said that it won't let Vishwaroop release in Uttar Pradesh until it has ceased to be controversial. Speaking about the ban, party general secretary Ram Asrey Kushwaha says that the film will be allowed to release when a final decision has been taken by the courts and the controversy surrounding it has settled down. Further he adds that the authorities would first watch the film and only then would the government consider its release in the state.
Vishwaroop banned in UP & MalaysiaWhile across the seas in Malaysia, Haasan's film was removed from local cinemas a day after its release following a directive from the Home Ministry, much to the disappointment for ethnic Indian fans of the superstar there.
Protesting against the ban, the largest ethnic Indian political party MIC has asked the government to allow the screening of Kamal Haasan's Vishwaroop, stressing that the spy thriller was not against any religion.
By the looks of this new development, Vishwaroop seems to have some hard days ahead.
