The Hollywood film Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson released a week ago. Based on a popular fairy tale, the musical romantic fantasy film directed by Bill Condon has been doing brisk business in the Indian market.
After drawing in Rs. 6.67 cr on its opening weekend in the domestic market the film continued to do business through the week despite other Bollywood releases. Now at the end of the first week the film which tells the story of a bright, beautiful and independent young woman Belle who is taken prisoner by a beast in its castle, only to eventually befriend and fall in love with her captor has raked in a total of Rs. 10.48 cr.
