Mubarakan has taken a surprisingly low opening at the Box Office with just Rs. 5.16 crore coming in. Even on a conservative note it had seemed that the film would start at Rs. 8 crore at the least. However, what actually transpired was entirely unexpected as the collections stayed low not just in the morning but even till the evening shows. Of course at certain properties, especially up North, the occupancy was better but that didn't really count much in the overall tally.
The multi-starrer with Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor in the lead roles is an expensive affair and that shows on screen, hence a good start was pretty much required for the film. Moreover, it practically has one week to collect good moolah since Jab Harry Met Sejal arrives on the coming Friday. A low start like this makes it an uphill journey for the film from this point on since the collections need to hit the 10 crore mark at least by tomorrow. This means at least 50% jump is required today and then tomorrow.
Given the fact that the start has been slow for the film, the collections would certainly increase but what has to be seen is whether the audience word of mouth really catches on fast.
