Box Office: Understanding the economics of Dum Laga Ke Haisha

The Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Dum Laga Ke Haisha has seen a tremendous growth in its collections since its release owing to the strong word of mouth. Though unlike other Yash Raj Films, the film doesn't have an ensemble cast, the 90s charm and rural appeal of the content has fetched rave reviews for the film from the critics and audiences alike. In this box office report, we will take a look at the economics of the film to analyze its overall profitability for the filmmakers.

As per the report, the makers of Dum Laga Ke Haisha have made an overall profit of approx. Rs. 11.25 crores.

Though the sum of Rs. 11.25 crores is way less compared to the profits Yash Raj films have made with big starrers, Dum Laga Ke Haisha with its low budget, fresh and unconventional pairing has managed to break through the plethora of rom-coms that Bollywood has in abundance. Despite the release of other films over the week, the collections of this film has seen a rise and it continues to run in theatres successfully with the final estimated profits to be in the range of Rs. 11-12 crores.
