Despite being a non-holiday release that faced stiff competition from other releases, the business of the film took off to a flying start. Collecting Rs. 70.15 cr on its second weekend, The Kashmir Files out beats the Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanju that collected Rs. 63.15 cr, the Salman Khan starrer Bajrangi Bhaijaan that collected Rs. 56.10 cr and the Aamir Khan starrer PK that collected Rs. 53.49 cr to become the third-highest all-time second weekend grosser. Besides these films, the business of The Kashmir Files also surpasses the collections of other releases like Tiger Zinda Hai which collected Rs. 48.71 cr, Tanhaji - The Unsung Warrior that collected Rs. 48.54 cr, Kabir Singh that collected Rs. 47.15 cr, and Padmaavat that had collected Rs. 46.00 cr.
However, on the other hand, the second weekend business of The Kashmir Files does not manage to surpass the collections of certain other releases like Baahubali 2 - The Conclusion that collected Rs. 80.75 cr, and Dangal that collected Rs. 73.70 cr.
Currently, The Kashmir Files still continues to run to packed houses despite releasing over a week ago. In fact, trade predicts that the business of the film will continue to hold firm in its second week as well, with expectations of the business crossing the Rs. 200 cr mark.
