The Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2 finally hit screens yesterday. After much talk and promotions, the film opened to a thunderous response from the critics and audience. In fact, the film which saw a release across 10000 screens worldwide also witnessed an immense rate of advance bookings across the board. As expected, KGF 2 has fast become the number one choice for audiences in theatres.
In this box office report, we look at the business of KGF – Chapter 2 within the overseas markets of Australia and New Zealand. The film collected USD 225,892 from 80 locations in Australia and a further USD 39,372 from 26 locations in New Zealand on Day 1. In fact, the business of KGF – Chapter 2 has managed to surpass the business of the previously released Allu Arjun starrer Pushpa: The Rise which collected USD 120,492 from 50 locations in Australia and USD 6,072 from 6 locations in New Zealand. However, the business of the Yash starrer KGF 2 does not out beat the collections of the SS Rajamouli directorial RRR which had collected USD 526,701 from 130 locations in Australia and USD 48,645 from 40 locations in New Zealand.
Going forward, KGF – Chapter 2 is expected to see growth in collections, with advance booking for the weekend picking up on account of the Easter holiday, it is predicted that the film could easily go on to become one of the highest grossers of the year.
