John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi starrer Mumbai Saga has taken an opening of Rs. 2.82 crores on its first day. The film has taken the best start for a non-holiday release in 2021. Roohi had seen an opening of Rs. 3.06 crores on the partial holiday of Mahashivaratri and now Mumbai Saga is a little below that but on a regular day.
What also needs to be taken into consideration is the fact that the situation between last weekend and this has only gone down with more and more restrictions coming into place when it comes to theatres slowed to be opened during late evening and night shows. Moreover, 50% occupancy rule is back at number of centers. Of course, that’s unfortunate but then the film was all set for release when such restrictions came and the fact that it still went ahead with the release is good enough.
Reports for the film are good, especially amongst the masses, as certain single screen theatres even witnessed houseful boards. All of that should ensure that the film turns out to be better today. Given the credentials involved with John Abraham leading the show, Emraan Hashmi doing well and Sanjay Gupta bringing on the style quotient, Mumbai Saga deserves a dekko in theatres.
