The Ram Charan – Jr. NTR starrer RRR that also features Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn hit screens on Friday last well. Directed by SS Rajamouli the film has been one of the most talked about releases of recent times. In fact, RRR which marks Rajamouli’s first directorial venture post the Baahubali saga came with immense expectations attached to its business. Living up to expectations, the film opened with a bang in both the domestic and international markets.
In this box office report, we take a look at the first Monday collections of RRR while comparing the same to previous releases. Collecting Rs. 17 cr on Day 4, its first Monday, RRR has managed to beat the collections of the multi-starrer Golmaal Again that collected Rs. 16.04 cr and the Salman Khan starrer Sultan that collected Rs. 15.54 cr to become the 18th all-time highest first Monday grosser. Besides these films, RRR has also managed to surpass the first Monday business of the recently release film The Kashmir Files that had collected Rs. 15.05 cr and the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year that had collected Rs. 15.01 cr.
As of now, RRR continues to wow the audience in theatres and is expected to see further growth in business over its first week. Trade predictions also reveal an optimistic view for the film’s business claiming that RRR could easily cross the Rs. 150 cr mark by the end of its first week. Currently pegged at Rs. 91.50 cr, the business of RRR will cross the Rs. 100 cr mark by the end of Day 5.
