The Kashmir Files Box Office Estimate Day 8: Continues its rampage with highest single day total; collects Rs. 19 crores on Holi Day

The Kashmir Files has continued with its glorious run at the box office despite opposition from Bachchhan Paandey. The Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri directorial has collected in the range of Rs. 18.50 to 20.50 crores on its eight day (second Friday) to take the total collections to Rs. 118 crore plus.

The movie is on a historic run at the box office and is all set to record better collections in the second weekend as compared to the first one. It has come across as an out of syllabus box office bonanza for the exhibitors and the trend suggests that it is sure to breeze past the Rs. 250 crore club at the box office. The movie is creating mayhem at all centres, be it East, West, North or South - and the business is just expected to grow from here on through the weekend.

Usually most films peak in their first weekend, but The Kashmir Files has recorded its biggest single day total on its eight day and trade believes that the peak is yet to come. The Sunday collections might zoom past the Rs. 25 crore mark and the movie will be standing at an earth shattering total of Rs. 160 crore plus in 10 day run. The Kashmir Files is among the biggest blockbusters in the modern era of Hindi cinema, more so because of it being made on a restrained budget of Rs. 15 crores.

The movie has also put a dent on the collections of Akshay Kumar's tentpole film, Bachchhan Paandey and this is something that no one would have anticipated. Though the Akshay Kumar-Kriti Sanon starrer managed to get enough showcasing eventually, the movie has underperformed on its opening day. While the credit for loss of business on day one goes to The Kashmir Files, the makers have also benefited a little due to Kashmir Files as a section of audience who couldn't get tickets for The Kashmir Files in current bookings eventually ended up watching Bachchhan Paandey.

This is a common phenomenon that has been happening traditionally as cine going audiences are often overlapping, especially on a holiday like Holi, which makes for a perfect day for movie outing for the audiences.
