After the release of the box office giant Sultan last week, this week we see the release of the Indra Kumar directed Great Grand Masti, which is the third film in the Masti franchise. But will Great Grand Masti live up to expectations that have been built on the previous two releases in the franchise or will it falter at the box office is the question.
Reports suggest that Great Grand Masti has opened to dismal response with occupancy rates during morning shows being pegged at 10-12%. If that wasn't bad enough, the film that was initially scheduled to release on July 22 got leaked online few days back, leaving the makers with no choice but to release it a week in advance. This has also affected the marketing plans of the film.
On the whole, with bad reviews, low key promotions, preponed release date, competition from last week's release Sultan as well as the new Hollywood release Ice Age: Collision Course, Great Grand Masti has an uphill task of enticing the audience to venture into theatres.
