Sporting a bob hairdo, wearing a tracksuit and a cap, Kajol stepped right into her character for the celebrations.

It’s been 25 years since Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released in theatres and Karan Johar forayed into direction. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and a special appearance by Salman Khan, the film has completed 25 years today. As everyone has been celebrating this milestone, Kajol decided to recreate the iconic Anjali look.

Sporting a bob hairdo, wearing a tracksuit and a cap, Kajol stepped right into her character for the celebrations. Sharing an Instagram reel, she wrote, “Stepping back into Anjali’s shoes after 25 years (couldn’t find the basketball though) So many memories and love attached to this film.. So glad that everyone loves it as much as I do. A first for @karanjohar and a beginning to an amazing journey for @dharmamovies .. Fabulous music that still resonates, even today.. #kkhh is and always will be a labour of love.”

On October 15, special screenings were held in Mumbai on this special occasion. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar surprised the audience at the theatres to witness the excitement of fans. Kajol missed the screening due to prior commitments to her work schedule due to which she has been travelling.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a story that revolves around Rahul, Anjali and Tina. After reading the letter her mother (Tina played by Rani Mukerji) had written for her before she died after giving birth to her, Anjali (Sana Saeed) decides to bring together her widowed father, Rahul (SRK), with his true love who is also named Anjali (Kajol). The film also stars Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher, Archana Puran Singh, and Himani Shivpuri.
