It’s been 25 years since Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released in theatres and Karan Johar forayed into direction. The filmmaker, an AD on Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, made his directorial debut with this love story starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji and a special appearance by Salman Khan. Today, Karan is celebrating a big milestone.
Sharing a nostalgic video from the moment which captures all the iconic moments, Karan Johar penned a note which read, “25 years ago is where it all began…and here we are today celebrating not just a film but an EMOTION for me and from all the love we get for it, I gather it is for everyone too…Thank you for showering unending love for this tale of pyaar & dosti till today and thank you for marking my journey as a filmmaker for 25 years with such warmth. On October 15, special screenings were held in Mumbai on this special occasion. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar surprised the audience at the theatres to witness the excitement of fans.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a story that revolves around Rahul, Anjali and Tina. After reading the letter her mother (Tina played by Rani Mukerji) had written for her before she died after giving birth to her, Anjali (Sana Saeed) decides to bring together her widowed father, Rahul (SRK), with his true love who is also named Anjali (Kajol). The film also stars Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher, Archana Puran Singh, and Himani Shivpuri.
