25 years ago, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai released in theatres and filmmaker Karan Johar forayed into direction. On October 15, a few special screenings were held in Mumbai to celebrate the big milestone of the movie. Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji and Karan Johar surprised the audiences, who were reliving the movie, by visiting the theatres. Kajol missed the screening due to prior commitments, and all of them remembered her at the screening.

Addressing the audience at the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai screening, Shah Rukh said, “Iss film ka humare liye bahut hi important makaam hai humari zindagi mein, humare dilo mein. Aap log thoda bahut samajhte ho, pura nahi samjhoge kyunki kuch kuch hota hai (This film is a very important milestone in our lives and in our hearts. You people understand this to some extent but you cannot understand it fully because there is something that happens).”

Speaking about his upcoming plan, he further said, “Ab pata nahi love story karu ya nahi karu, ab Jawan bachcho ko karne do (Now I don't know if I should still do a love story, let's leave them for younger actors).” The audience reacted to Shah Rukh's statement with a loud roar.

Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is a story that revolves around Rahul, Anjali and Tina. After reading the letter her mother (Tina played by Rani Mukerji) had written for her before she died after giving birth to her, Anjali (Sana Saeed) decides to bring together her widowed father, Rahul (SRK), with his true love who is also named Anjali (Kajol). The film also stars Farida Jalal, Anupam Kher, Archana Puran Singh, Reema Lagoo and Himani Shivpuri.
