Ryan Coogler’s hotly-anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is around the corner for its release and we can’t contain the excitement to what Marvel has in store for us in the upcoming follow-up. 1. Revising storyline over recasting T’Challa after Chadwick Boseman’s death

Boseman died battling colon cancer a year after the sequel to the Oscar-winning film Black Panther was announced in 2019. Rather than recasting T’Challa for the sequel, the makers decided to revise the storyline and honour the tragic death of Boseman.

Meanwhile, in the trailers, a new Black Panther is seen without explicitly revealing the identity. Many speculate that Letitia Wright’s Shuri, the younger sister of T’Challa and the Princess of Wakanda will potentially take up the mantle after grieving the loss of their king, T’Challa.

2. Female-led storyline

Following the tragic death of Boseman and King T’Challa in the film, the revised storyline was created on the basis of people who were most affected by their king’s death. Hence, the focus was shifted to the female characters of the film. “It’s not about pushing women forward or holding men back; it’s about telling the story that is organic,” producer Nate Moore said in a statement.

“We are blessed with an amazing cast who breathe life into these characters and makes you want to see what’s happening with Shuri, or Okoye, or Nakia, or Ramonda. To not highlight them would have been a disservice to the story. The movie’s better for it—because if we would have wedged in some new male characters just to have that voice, that would have been performative.”

3. High-end technology

Wakanda has seen incredible technological advancements through Vibranium, a fictional element native to their nation. The fictional metal has many interesting properties like it can absorb kinetic energy and sound waves, adding all the more to the meaningful details in the Black Panther’s suit and other symbolic objects in the film. The sleek use of cutting-edge technology will also aid in the upcoming war against Namor and Talocans.

4. Debut of new superhero with the most advanced suit after Iron Man

Another young superhero is going to be introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Riri Williams who is also known as Ironheart who will also have her own MCU series. Ironheart follows Williams, a "genius inventor who creates the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man.” In the comics, Ironheart was an engineering student who recreates the Iron Man suit and receives guidance from an AI Tony Stark.

5. Iconic soundtrack

Marvel has finally released the official soundtrack of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever including its lead single "Lift Me Up" from Rihanna which is a tribute to Chadwick Boseman. While genre, writing, and direction all play a key role in making a film remarkable, music plays an equally important role in delivering the emotion of the film. The first trailer also featured Tem’s rendition of ‘No Woman No Cry’ making the trailer feel even more emotional.
