She has a lethal combination of vulnerability and quiet strength which translates on screen and has made her a formidable force in the industry today. Veteran actor Rajat Sharma interviewed her for his show Aap Ki Aadalat and here is what the pretty lass revealed

1: On dating Ranbir Kapoor

The most important question which currently looms in Alia's personal life is if she is dating Ranbir Kapoor or no. Alia, first of all, turned into scarlet with mention of the Kapoor scion and then said that even if she is with someone, she would not accept or deny about it. And if she was not dating the said person, she would vehemently deny the same. No denial occurred with mention of Ranbir. When Rajat asked her about dating her Brahmastra actor, she quipped that she would not like to comment, all while blushing and giving everything away.

2: On not handling failures well

Alia spoke about how she landed her first film only because she was a known director Mahesh Bhatt's daughter but reiterated that after her first film, she was the one who carried herself forward and proved her mettle. She opened up about the time she broke down in front of her father She said, "When I told my dad that I was feeling nervous for her first film, he just called me to his office and made me stand in front of around 7 people including Pooja Bhatt and Emraan Hashmi. He told me to explain how I was feeling and while talking, I started crying,"

She later spoke about the time she felt like a failure when her movie Shandaar tanked at the box office. She said that her father sat her down and explained to her the importance of failure and how on should not let success go in your head. Later she had a fab year with Kapoor & Sons, Udta Punjab and Dear Zindagi and redeemed herself.

3: On being unintelligent

She made a very pertinent point about being away from the smart people's league where everyone wants to belong but instead be unique. Later, there also was discussion about her brand image due to the Alia dumb jokes and brand positioning which resulted into her being a super successful commercial entity.

4: On having an over protective father

She recalled an incident where Mahesh Bhatt got very jealous when she gifted her then-boyfriend a massage chair and wanted an expensive gift too. So since he loves nothing more than books, Alia has linked her credit card to her dad’s book account and buys him all the books he fancies. She also said that he is still wary of her boyfriends.

5: On Karan Johar, her secret keeper

Alia said that she doesn't have anything to hide in her life. She is like an open book but she doesn't prefer talking about her personal life. However, she shares everything with director Karan Johar.
