Readers would recall the lavish wedding of Arpita Khan with Aayush Sharma, who hails from a politician and entrepreneurial family. However, soon after marriage, Sharma decided to enter the world of Bollywood and is currently gearing up for his next release Ruslaan. During a recent interaction, the actor recalled his first conversation with brother-in-law Salman Khan, when the former had asked Arpita’s hand in marriage.
In the past, several times, the Khan brothers have opened about their first meeting with Aayush Sharma, which came after Arpita Khan confessed to her siblings about her relationship with him. Opening up about the incident to Brut India, Aayush Sharma said, “So Arpita’s mother knew we were together but Salman Bhai didn’t know.” He revealed that he was with Arpita and the couple were watching TV when Salman Khan came to the house. Aayush went on to say that things got awkward after a brief introduction between the two men, and he decided to leave.
Aayush went on to elaborate, “Next day he called and asked me to come and meet him and I was like ‘okay’.” He also revealed that how he felt that Salman was someone who would listen and that it is the people around him who have built this ‘aura’ where people get nervous to place their point in front of him. He went on, “So, when I met him, he told me ‘I have done my research about you and I feel like you are a good boy’. He went on to ask me about my future plans and I responded, ‘I would like to marry Arpita’. He asked me my age and I said ‘24’. So he asked me, ‘Aren’t you a child yourself’? I responded to him saying ‘whenever I plan to marry, I will marry her’.”
Aayush further continued, “Amid all this, the funny thing is I had never proposed to Arpita and I have never officially proposed to her. Having said that, I also wanted to be honest with him and I told him ‘I don’t do anything for a living’. I started selling myself to him because I was discussing something as serious as marriage but he calmed me down and said that I am an honest man”.
Aayush Sharma tied the knot with Arpita Khan in 2014 at Taj Falaknuma in Hyderabad and the couple became parents to their first child, son Ahil in 2016 and later, a daughter named Ayat in 2019.
