The long-awaited trailer for Dream Girl 2 has finally been released and since it is a sequel to a blockbuster comedy, expectations have been running high. While it is yet to be seen if the film is ready to live up to its hype, it seems that the entertaining trailer has won hearts. While Ayushmann Khurrana returns as Pooja a few new characters have been introduced along with Ananya Panday as the leading lady. One among them is Abhishek Banerjee, who will be seen in the role of Shah Rukh in the upcoming comedy.
Abhishek Banerjee, who has earned a reputation for his versatility, has raised curiosity after audiences got a glimpse of his new avatar in the trailer. Speaking about his character, he said, "My character's name in the film is Shah Rukh, which initially led me to wonder if I was supposed to portray the real Shah Rukh Khan or a romantic character. However, after reading the script, I discovered that this character is entirely different. He is a person struggling with depression and sadness, but when he encounters Pooja, he finds a glimmer of hope in his life."
The trailer features some hilarious dialogues and the audience also got a glimpse of the fresh pairing of Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday. Accompanying them in this laughter ride is an ensemble of actors, including Paresh Rawal, Asrani, Annu Kapoor, Manjot Singh, Rajpal Yadav, Manoj Joshi, Seema Pahwa, and Vijay Raaz. Directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, the film is scheduled to hit the cinemas on August 25, 2023.
