Aditya Roy Kapur opens up on his interaction with Tom Hiddleston; says, “It was a bit of a surprise for me”

Aditya Roy Kapur reveals his meeting with Tom Hiddleston.

Bollywood actor Aditya Roy Kapur received a call from Tom Hiddleston praising the Hindi adaptation of his show The Night Manager recently. He played the lead in the popular Disney+ Hotstar series, which is an official adaptation of the English series of the same name with Tom in the lead.

Aditya recently talked about his experience of interacting with Tom Hiddleston. He told India Today, “There was a screening in London for him (Tom) and a few other people who had created the original show and our directors Sandeep and Priyanka were there. I had no idea actually about the screening, it was at the last minute that Sandeep told me about Tom being there and that it was happening. So, they called me after watching the show to tell me how it was. It was a bit of a surprise for me, but it really felt good that he enjoyed the show. He had some kind words to say about the show. It meant a lot that the original show makers liked and enjoyed it.”

When asked about a possible crossover, Aditya said, “I don't know about a crossover, but it was really nice. We shall manifest it.”

British author John Le Carré, who passed away in December 2020, wrote The Night Manager in 1993. The series is an authorised Hindi adaptation of the corresponding novel by John le Carre.

The plot centred on a former soldier who works as a night manager at a hotel and is hired by a government espionage organisation to infiltrate an arms dealer's inner circle.

Aditya is currently gearing up for his next project Gumraah opposite Mrunal Thakur. He will be seen playing a double role in the film. Gumraah is inspired by the Tamil film Thadam. Helmed by debutant director Vardhan Ketkar, the film is being produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series and Murad Khetani’s Cine1 Studios. It is slated to release in cinemas on April 7, 2023. Aditya also has Anurag Basu’s Metro In Dino with an ensemble cast.
