Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi starrer Selfiee has been much-awaited, since its announcement. The trailer of the movie was launched yesterday with great fun fare, in the presence of media and fans. Playing a superstar in the Raj Mehta directorial, Akshay Kumar dedicates the film to all his fans.

Impressing upon them, he says “It has been 32 years in the industry for me. But I am still the Chandni Chowk boy from Delhi. We, stars, are as human as the rest of the country and our fans.” He adds, “The film is dedicated to all the fans of all the celebrities in the world. We are alive because of our fans nahi toh humaari koi aukaat nahi hai.”

Besides this, the 55-year-old actor also spoke about PM Narendra Modi asking party workers to not comment on films to grab headlines. He asserted, “Positivity is always welcome. And if our Prime Minister is saying something like this. He is India’s biggest influencer. If he is saying something and if things change it’ll be great for the industry. And why not, things should change, because we go through so much.”

Apart from Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Diana Penty also star in the movie. Star Studios presents Selfiee in association with Dharma Productions, Prithviraj Productions, Magic Frames and Cape Of Good Films. Produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Aruna Bhatia, Supriya Menon, Karan Johar, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Apoorva Mehta and Listin Stephen, Selfiee releases in theatres on February 24, 2023
