Akshay Kumar to have a working birthday this year on the sets of Sky Force

Akshay Kumar will not be taking time off to spend time with his family in London this year but instead will be in the country.

Akshay Kumar, who is one of Bollywood’s busiest actors, is revelling in the success of his recent movie OMG 2. However, he did not waste time in getting back into the grind and has already started work on his multiple upcoming projects. The actor is currently immersed in shooting for his highly-awaited movie Sky Force, in the city of Lucknow.

And now we have learnt that the actor, who’s birthday falls on September 9, will not be taking a break to celebrate his 56th birthday. Although he usually prefers to celebrate it with family, he will be commemorating the day this time, with the cast and crew on the sets of the action-drama film. Talking about the actor having a working birthday, a source has shared, "Akshay Kumar is currently busy shooting for his film Sky Force. This time on his birthday, he will not take time off to go on a vacation. He will be rather busy shooting for the intense sequences in Lucknow. Every year, Akshay makes sure to spend his birthday with his family in London. But after the longest time, he will have a working birthday this year."

Speaking of Sky Force, the film is expected to be an aviation thriller wherein Akshay will be playing the character of an Indian Air Force officer. The film is said to draw inspiration from real-life events and will be paying homage to one of their most significant triumphs. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and Sandeep Kelwani, the film will be produced under the banner of Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. As for the cast, along with Kumar, the film will also feature his Atrangi Re co-star Sara Ali Khan as well as Airlift co-star Nimrat Kaur.

Besides Sky Force, Akshay Kumar also has Mission Raniganj, Soorarai Poottru remake, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, among others in the pipeline.
