Ananya Panday had an interesting conversation with Mayank Shekhar of Mid-Day where she spoke about her career and her life. At an important juncture, she speaks about her lovely bond with Suhana Khan and her father, superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

Ananya Panday talks about her bond with Shah Rukh Khan: “I call him SRK as he likes to be in our gang; he taught us how to run on our sports days and practise taekwondo”

Ananya began by saying, “Shah Rukh sir has come from outside and today, he’s the king. He dealt with his family very normally. We didn’t even realize until he stood outside Mannat and we saw thousands of people come to see him from faraway places.”

She said, “He’s someone who’s like a father figure. He has taught us how to run on our sports days and practise our taekwondo. He was very involved and is a present parent. The way he is with Suhana, Aryan and AbRam is amazing. He is one of the best fathers.”

Ananya Panday continued, “Suhana always says that ‘Even though he shoots for 12-16 hours a day, he would always come home and spend time with us’. He would get involved in their college admissions and their homework and everything. I remember seeing him like that and he’s still like that. He’s very, very involved in the lives of all of us, in fact. If I am facing any problem, I can talk to him about it. He’s very non-judgmental.”

When asked if she messages him, she replied, “I don’t text him. I’ll see him in person or call him.”

And what does Ananya Panday call Shah Rukh Khan? She smiled and revealed, “I call him SRK. That’s because he likes to be in our gang. He’s always going to be SRK. At times, I call him Shah Rukh and in a professional environment, I address him as Shah Rukh sir.”

Suhana Khan debuted last year with The Archies (2023), directed by Zoya Akhtar. Ananya said, “I loved The Archies. I was so happy to be seated next to her at the premiere. She’s such a special person and she has a lot to offer to the world.”
