Actor Arshad Warsi recently found himself at the center of controversy after making a comment likening Prabhas’ portrayal in the upcoming film Kalki 2898 AD to that of a "joker." The remark ignited backlash from fans and industry peers alike, prompting Warsi to address the issue publicly. In a recent interview with India Today, he expressed that the criticism he faced no longer bothers him, stating, “It doesn't bother me anymore.”

Warsi's Response to the Backlash after calling Prabhas “Joker”

In his characteristic lighthearted manner, Arshad Warsi conveyed that he will continue to appreciate all actors moving forward. He shared his thoughts on the situation, noting, “This was the first time I felt I was on the receiving end of backlash.” Warsi acknowledged that while negativity can affect even the most positive individuals, he has learned to navigate such circumstances. He remarked, “However, we have been at a place where stones are thrown, so it doesn't bother me anymore.”

In light of the controversy, some fans noticed that Warsi had disabled comments on his social media accounts. When asked about this decision, he humorously responded that he didn’t know how to do it.

A New Approach to Film Appreciation

Reflecting on whether the incident had made him more cautious about his public comments, Warsi shared his new philosophy on film appreciation. He declared, “I have decided that I will love every film that I watch. I will love every actor for the rest of my life.” This approach appears to be a proactive step to prevent any further misunderstandings or negative feedback in the future.

Warsi also addressed speculation suggesting he had deliberately stirred controversy to promote his upcoming film. He clarified that while such tactics are common in the industry, he was unaware of his film's release schedule at the time of his remarks. He stated, “One can never plan for controversies or their outcomes,” highlighting the unpredictability of public reactions.

In August, during a conversation with Samdish Bhatia on his podcast, Warsi was asked to name the last disappointing film he had seen. He mentioned Kalki 2898 AD, expressing disappointment with Prabhas’ performance, which he felt lacked intensity. He compared Prabhas to a joker and wished for a portrayal more akin to Mel Gibson in Mad Max. Following his comments, several prominent figures from the Telugu film industry, including actors Nani and Sudheer Babu, along with director Ajay Bhupathi, criticised Warsi for his choice of words. They suggested that he could have expressed his opinions more thoughtfully.
