When asked if she misses her didi, Asha nodded, “Yes, of course.” She revealed, “She was my elder sister and also my mother. My mother had told me, ‘Agar main nahin rahungi toh yeh tumhari maa hai’. Maa ki tarah unko maante bhi the and she was also a big singer. As an artist, I respected her a lot as well. Maa-baap ki jo chhaaon hoti hai, woh sar se jab hat jaati hai, toh alag lagta hai. That’s what I feel (after her demise).”

Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle is gearing up for her Dubai concert which will be held on her 90th birthday. Rajdeep Sardesai revealed that she recently said in an interview that she is the ‘last Mughal’ in the music industry. The singer laughed and explained why she said so, “I have spent 80 years of my life in this film industry. I have worked with almost all major music directors, producers, directors, actors, actresses, singers etc. Sab aaye bhi aur mere saamne gaye bhi. At times, new singers would emerge. But they would (fade into oblivion in 2-4 years). I knew them all and still do. Un sab ko janne waala koi nahin hai.”

She continued, “For example, you have never seen Kishore Kumar in your life. So many people never came across R D Burman, Naushad saab, Madan Mohan ji. Kisi kisi ne toh didi ko bhi nahin dekha.”
