The talented actress, gracing the pages of Harper Bazaar's December 2023 issue, shared her insights on evolving beauty standards, her personal skincare rituals, and her commitment to conscious choices.

Athiya acknowledges the shift in the beauty landscape, celebrating the growing acceptance of diverse features and imperfections. "Beauty standards have definitely widened," she says. "People are more accepting of beauty and have become more confident in sharing their flaws by flaunting their stretch marks, acne, freckles, discolouration, for example." This inclusive shift extends to the makeup world, where Athiya observes a "focus on using less products and enhancing one's natural beauty or features."

With her conscious lifestyle choices, Athiya extends her values to her beauty routine. "You see so many products that are vegan and cruelty-free and that's what I stick to," she states. "I try to understand the ingredients from the make-up artists to know how this will benefit me and the environment." This awareness, she believes, makes "a win-win situation," for both personal and environmental wellbeing.

For Athiya, the key to healthy, radiant skin lies in understanding and listening to her body's needs. "I've had dry skin ever since I was young, so it's something that I've had to deal with for a long time," she reveals. Consequently, her skincare routine revolves around constant hydration. "My routine is always about finding ways to keep my skin hydrated with lots of water and green juices."
