An Action Hero, the newest film by Ayushmann Khurrana, did not perform well at the box office. The film grossed barely Rs 17 crore but earned positive reviews. Finally, once the film became available on Netflix last week, people began to praise it. Ayushmann Khurrana responded on Twitter to a fan who recently praised his film An Action Hero above Shah Rukh Khan's smash Pathaan. Ayushmann, who labels himself a Shah Rukh fan, greeted the fan but expressed anger with her comments against Pathaan. Fans were charmed over by Ayushmann's wonderful response to it. Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, has become the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2023.
Pathaan marks Shah Rukh's return film, and it broke box office records throughout the world. The film has already made Rs 700 crore globally. On Thursday, a fan remarked about the craze around this film and praised An Action Hero. The user tagged the actor and wrote, “Screw Pathan, watch Action Hero on Netflix! Story, dialogues, background music, the subtle middle finger shown to Indian news channels and their crass reporting, @ayushmannk has KILLED it! But my fav was the guy mimicking Arnab.”

Ayushmann's lovely acceptance of the accolades, as well as his support for his idol's film, has admirers swooning. Ayushmann tweeted back, “Thanks for loving An Action Hero. Could’ve avoided the first line though I’m an SRKian!”

An Action Hero is a dark comedy-action thriller directed by Anirudh Iyer. The film, which debuted on December 2, also stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Harsh Chhaya, and Neeraj Madhav, as well as a cameo appearance by Akshay Kumar. The film garnered a tepid reception from the public and was just re-released on the OTT platform.
On the work front, Ayushmann marked his Bollywood debut with the film Vicky Donor opposite Yami Gautam. He was last seen in An Action Hero with Jaideep Ahlawat. The actor has much-awaited Dream Girl 2, sequel to his blockbuster 2019 film, in the pipeline. The film, co-starring Ananya Pandey, will release on July 7, 2023.
