Ayushmann Khurrana reveals he and Neha Kakkar were rejected from Indian Idol on the same day

During the promotions of An Action Hero, Ayushmann Khurrana revealed that he and Neha Kakkar were rejected from Indian Idol and that too on the same day.

Ayushmann Khurrana may be one of the most sought-after actors of the current generation but the actor started off his career in the entertainment industry as a reality show contestant and a VJ. Tracing his roots, Ayushmann recently met singer Neha Kakkar on the sets of Indian Idol 13 during the promotions of his forthcoming film An Action Hero and recalled the time when he had met her on the sets of the same singing reality show years ago.

Neha Kakkar started her career with music reality shows where she developed and polished her singing talent. On the other hand, readers may also be aware that Ayushmann Khurrana is a great singer and has done quite a bit of playback singing in his films. Now, when these two singers met up on Indian Idol 13, they couldn’t help but remember the time they had auditioned for the show. In fact, Ayushmann revealed during the show, that he and Neha were rejected from the singing reality show on the same day and how the dejected duo decided to return to their hometown after they were given the bad news.

However, the actor continued and added about how life has come full circle where now Neha Kakkar is one of the judges of the reality show and how he has accompanied her as the guest judge on the panel.

For the uninitiated, besides her, Indian Idol 13 also has Vishal Dadlani and Himesh Reshammiya as the judges. On the other hand, Ayushmann was accompanied by his co-star Jaideep Ahlawat for the promotions.

Ayushmann Khurrana gained fame as a singer with the popularity of the song ‘Pani Da Rang’ from his debut film Vicky Donor which featured him in the unconventional role of a sperm donor. The actor-musician was last seen playing the lead role of a gynecologist in Doctor G which also starred Rakul Preet Singh and Shefali Shah in pivotal roles.
