Boney Kapoor and Anil Kapoor immerse Sridevi’s ashes in Haridwar : Bollywood News

The Indian film industry lost another gem in Sridevi after she passed away on February 24. The autopsy report revealed ‘accidental drowning in the bathtub due to unconsciousness’ as the cause of her death. The funeral of Sridevi took place on February 28. Last weekend, Boney Kapoor, Khushi Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor visited Rameshwaram to immerse her ashes.

Boney Kapoor and Anil Kapoor immerse Sridevi’s ashes in Haridwar

On Thursday, Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor immersed her ashes in Haridwar. The producer was accompanied by his brother Anil Kapoor, Sridevi's close friend and designer Manish Malhotra and politician Amar Singh. They performed the last rituals at the VIP ghat in Haridwar.

Sridevi was in Dubai to attend Boney Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marwah’s wedding. Her untimely demise has left the Kapoor- Marwah- Ayyapan family in shock. The family is still grieving and has urged everyone to give them some privacy during this tragic time. Anil Kapoor, Boney Kapoor and Janhvi Kapoor released statements after her last rites thanking everyone for sending condolences. They even requested to remember Sridevi for her work and the legacy she has left behind.

The legendary Sridevi was the first female superstar of the Indian film industry. She ruled box office and was a superstar in not just Hindi film industry but in south as well. She began acting since the age of 4. The late actress became a household name during the 80s. She starred in several iconic films including Chandni, Chaalbaaz, Lamhe, Mr India, Judaai, Laadla to name a few. Her second innings surely got her great accolades as well. She made her comeback with English Vinglish. She was last seen in 2017 film Mom.
