Shah Rukh Khan has recently been the subject of unwarranted criticism after a video of him offering dua at Lata Mangeshkar's state funeral went viral. According to Islamic tradition, the actor raised his hands to offer a dua before blowing in the wind to ward off the evil eye. Many praised the gesture; some criticized him which did not sit down well with SRK fans and celebrities.
Now, an old video of his going viral on social media where he talks about the diversity in India. He says in the video that when he hears or reads the opinions of people who do not consider themselves Indian, he says it makes him sad. SRK recounted how in school, students were had to prepare an essay on "My Country.” He said," “Ownership does not mean that this is our India. It is what we have to do for the country. Those, who are called anti-nationals or anti-social, are people who do not think they are part of India. I feel sad because my family has fought for this country. I feel even sadder on reading about such things as it takes away from what my father told me, ‘Keep this country free, as I gave it to you.'”

Urmila Matondkar and Shilpa Rao had previously expressed their support for the Chennai Express actor. Urmila Matondkar used Twitter to express herself in Hindi. “This is not spitting. This is called offering a prayer and blowing into the wind. This practice, this culture represents India too. You have put up a photo of the Prime Minister, if only you could have learned something from him. Listen to this one song by India’s great daughter where she speaks of providing good sense to everyone, and how each human being is God’s child.”
On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will next star in Yash Raj Films’ Pathan with Deepika Padukone and John Abraham. He also has Atlee’s next with Nayanthara and Rajkumar Hirani project.
