He is one of the most intelligent filmmakers, who never fears to give away his opinion on different issues and it was recently that Mahesh Bhatt announced his acting debut with Mukul Mishra's Siddhartha.

While the filmmaker's daughters are already established actors, this will be the first time where he will be playing a pivotal role of a monk in the film. Posting his new look on the micro blogging site, Mahesh also wrote, "Stepping into the frame of silence. Mukul Misra's Siddhartha." When the director-producer was offered the role, he had stated that the reason he had agreed to take this up was because he understands the principles of Buddhism and that he could relate to Mukul's vision.
