Every sector was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The onset of the virus across the world almost brought daily life to a standstill. The film industries across the world were drastically impacted by the pandemic. With theatres shut down, it gave a boost to the digital platforms and there was a massive shift in the way content was consumed. Audiences got to consume a variety of content from across the world, widening their horizon. This led filmmakers to embrace the change in the audience that came along with it.
Meanwhile, Abhay’s film Jungle Cry is directed by Sagar Ballary of Bheja Fry fame and is based on the true story of 12 underprivileged and orphaned children from Odisha's Kalinga Institute of Social Science (KISS) who went on to win the prestigious U14 Rugby World cup in England in 2007. Abhay plays the role of real-life rugby coach Rudraksha Jena. The film also stars Stewart Wright, Emil Shah, and Atul Kumar and will be released on Lionsgate Play on June 3.
