EXCLUSIVE: Anil Sharma says, “People were excited to know what happens with Jeete in Gadar 2 after he grows up” 2 : Bollywood News

Gadar 2, which released earlier this month on the 11^th, has become blockbuster at the box office by crossing a mammoth number of Rs. 450 crores. Starring Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, Utkarsha Sharma and Manish Wadhwa, the movie takes forward the story of Sharma’s own Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. The sequel came 22 years after the first film.

Sharma told Bollywood Hungama in an exclusive interview that they had been trying to crack the story of Gadar 2 since long. He also said that people were eager to know what happens with Jeete’s character, which is played by Sharma’s son Utkarsh Sharma, after the first film.

Said Sharma, “We were trying to make Gadar 2 since long. Even the audience was asking for it. They wanted to know what happened with Tara, Sakeena and Jeete. People were most excited to know about Jeete’s story and what happens with him after he grows up. Co-incidentally, Utkarsh, who played Jeete in the first film, was also growing up.”

He added, “We started making Genius (2018) with Utkarsh. But we weren’t getting any story (for Gadar 2). A lot of stories we were getting weren’t sounding good.”

Sharma said that one fine day, the film’s writer Shaktimaan, who also wrote the first film, visited his house during Navratri and narrated the story idea for Gadar 2. “He made me hear an idea. It made me excited; I liked it so much. I started walking around the room. When I like an idea, I start walking around. It means that the execution of the idea has started (in my mind). Then I made Utkarsh and my wife listen to the idea and then to Sunny and Zee. Everyone found it very good. Bas, baat ban gayi,” said Sharma.
