EXCLUSIVE: Bachchhan Paandey director Farhad Samji narrates deleted scene featuring Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey; Akshay Kumar reveals real inspiration behind the title

Akshay Kumar's upcoming film titled Bachchhan Paandey is a comedy action- adventure and unlike its title, the film has nothing to do with any Bachchan or Pandey from the film industry. Recently, during the press conference for the film, Akshay had said that he got the inspiration for the title of the film when he saw Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey posing together at a party. However, in a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, Akshay clarified that it was a joke. Director Farhad Samji further also narrated a deleted scene from the film which did feature Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey.

In the interview talking about the title, Akshay said, "It was just a joke. The actual inspiration for the title was the name of my character from Tashan. In that film, my character was called Bachchan Pandey."

Adding to it, Farhad Samji said that they had plans to incorporate Abhishek ad Chunky in the film but the scene was later deleted. “A deleted scene had these two, but only in the form of their pictures. Kriti and Arshad's characters were looking for Bachchhan Paandey and they ask a young kid if they had seen him. The kid says yes and pulls out the Mayapuri magazine with pictures of Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey. But we didn't put this scene in the film finally,” he shared.

Bachchhan Paandey will be released in theatres on March 18. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, Arshad Warsi, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Pankaj Tripathi.
